Cheers & Beers!
The German devotion to quality and consistency laid the groundwork for the modern craft beer movement. Beers like these deserve a place in our future right next to the macro beers at parties-that way there’ll still be something good to drink.
Choose from Hofbrau, Czechvar, or Warsteiner
Hofbrau is a bit rounder or fuller-bodied than light lager and even all-malt pilsners. Helles lager beers offer a touch of sweetness that balance a measurable addition of spicy German hop flavor and light bitterness. The malt character is soft and bready, making it a terrific complement to light dishes such as salad or fresh shellfish, like clams. Clean and crisp, this is a refreshing beer with substance. Low levels of yeast-produced sulfur aromas and flavors may be common.
Czechvar has brewed the finest Czech Lager in the world, made using local ingredients and aged to perfection in cellars in České Budějovice, South Bohemia. The brewery is still owned by the people of the Czech Republic
Warsteiner is a refreshing, pale golden pilsener with a clean taste perfectly balanced with hints of barley malt, subtle bottom fermenting yeast tones and mild hoppy bitterness.
“Einbecker Mai-Ur-Bock is a traditional springtime beer with a pale orange color, a fluffy off-white head, and a honeyed, toffeeish malt aroma … This is a delicious beer in which hops and malt vie for dominance on the palate.”
